Therapy Services in Edmond and Oklahoma City
I provide therapy for anxiety, trauma, relationships, body image, sexual concerns, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ experiences. My approach is structured and practical, with attention to both what you are experiencing now and what may be contributing to it.
Trauma and Past Experiences
Past experiences can continue to affect how you feel and respond, even when you understand what happened and know it is in the past. Trauma therapy helps us work with the emotions, beliefs, and physical reactions that may still be showing up in your life. I use EMDR and Brainspotting when appropriate to help process these experiences rather than simply continuing to talk about them.
Sex Therapy and Intimacy
Sexual concerns may include low libido, performance anxiety, difficulty with arousal, erectile issues, or feeling disconnected during intimacy. Sexual response is affected by both the mind and body, so we look at what is actually contributing to the concern. That may include anxiety, physical health, medication, sensory experiences, body image, trauma, relationship dynamics, or the pressure you put on yourself during sex.
LGBTQIA+ Therapy
You should not have to spend therapy explaining your identity, defending your relationships, or wondering whether your therapist understands the basics. I work with LGBTQIA+ adults navigating identity, relationships, intimacy, minority stress, religious trauma, body image, and other concerns that may or may not have anything to do with being LGBTQIA+.
Therapy gives us a place to talk openly about what is actually happening in your life without treating your identity as the problem. We can address the concerns that brought you to therapy while also recognizing how family, culture, religion, discrimination, and past experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself and relate to other people.
Neurodivergence
ADHD and autism can affect attention, sensory processing, emotional regulation, relationships, communication, intimacy, and everyday life. Instead of repeatedly trying to make strategies designed for someone else work for you, we look at how your brain and nervous system actually function and what gets in the way.
Our work may include sensory overwhelm, executive functioning, meltdowns or shutdowns, masking, emotional regulation, relationships, or communication. The goal is not to make you appear less autistic or more neurotypical. It is to understand what works for you and find approaches that make sense for the way you actually experience the world.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a trauma-focused approach that uses points in your visual field to help access emotions, memories, and physical responses that may be difficult to reach through talking alone. During a session, we identify a specific point in your field of vision and pay attention to what comes up without forcing you to explain or analyze every part of the experience.
I use Brainspotting for trauma, anxiety, emotional distress, and experiences that continue to feel stuck even when you understand them intellectually. It gives us another way to work with how an experience is held in both the brain and body.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured approach that helps the brain process distressing experiences that continue to affect you in the present. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, while we work with the memories, emotions, beliefs, and physical reactions connected to an experience.
EMDR does not erase what happened or require you to describe every detail. The purpose is to help an experience feel more like something that happened in the past instead of something your brain and body are still responding to now.

Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that identifies and processes underlying trauma by pinpointing specific eye positions that correlate with emotional and psychological distress. Developed by Dr. David Grand, it operates on the premise that certain spots in a client's visual field can trigger and access unresolved traumatic memories or emotions stored in the body. During a session, a therapist guides the client to locate these "brainspots" through their gaze, which is believed to tap into the brain's natural self-healing processes, facilitating the release and processing of deep-seated emotional issues. This method is used to treat a variety of conditions, including trauma, anxiety, and depression, offering a powerful avenue for healing by directly engaging with the body's innate ability to recover and restore emotional well-being.

Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that our past experiences and childhood shape our current behavior in ways we might not fully realize. Instead of just focusing on immediate symptoms, you and your therapist work like detectives to uncover unconscious patterns and buried emotions that keep you stuck in repetitive cycles. By bringing these hidden influences into the light of conversation, you gain a deeper understanding of why you feel or act the way you do. This process allows you to make more intentional choices rather than simply reacting to old wounds. It is less about fixing a specific habit and more about finding the root cause to create lasting emotional change.

EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people who have experienced distressing or traumatic events. It’s based on the idea that our brains have a natural ability to heal from difficult experiences, but sometimes these experiences can get ‘stuck’ and continue to affect us in negative ways.
EMDR uses different techniques, such as eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, to help activate the brain’s natural healing process. It allows people to process their memories and emotions related to the trauma, which can lead to a reduction in distress and the development of more adaptive coping mechanisms.
EMDR has been shown to be effective in helping individuals overcome the impact of traumatic experiences and find greater emotional well-being.
